Mada has been working since 1999 on several development projects by the integration of responsible tourism as an alternative socio-economic activity for the communities of Akkar, Hermel and Donniyeh as a target for keeping people in their communities while generating income and preserving their heritage.
MADA is now supporting different community based eco-lodges in a variety of ways:
- Small financial support for some lodges
- Marketing support (web site, brochures, posters)
- Capacity building
- Support in network building

Since 2007, Mada has been a member of a Mediterranean network for responsible and solidarity tourism regrouping several countries including France, Morocco, Jordan, Palestine, Syria and Lebanon (view network charter). This network allows its members to share and exchange information's, tourists and training workshops. Today Mada is the Middle East network coordinator. |
